FAQs
The Sugarcoated Truth (FAQs)
Your most-asked questions, answered with love and honesty.
On Sugaring...
Let's be real... does it hurt?
I'm your Sugar Momma, not a sugar-coater.😘 Yes, there’s sensation—we are removing hair from the root, after all. But here's the tea: sugaring is leagues more comfortable than traditional waxing. The all-natural paste is body temperature (no burns!) and it only grabs onto hair and dead skin, not your delicate live skin. Your first time is the initiation; it only gets better from there. Promise.
How long does my hair need to be?
Think a grain of rice. That’s about 1/4 of an inch, or 2-3 weeks of growth after shaving. And please, step away from the scissors—don't trim! We need something to work with to give you that flawlessly smooth finish.
So, how do I prep for this ritual?
Keep it simple, stargirl. For 24 hours before your appointment, skip the lotions, oils, tanning, and heavy exfoliation on the area we're treating. Show up clean and bare-skinned. It's the perfect canvas for magic.
What's the post-sugar aftercare?
Welcome to the Velvet Era. For the next 24 hours, treat your skin like the luxury it is. That means: no sun, no saunas or hot tubs, no intense workouts, and no tight, synthetic fabrics. Let your skin breathe. After 48 hours, start a gentle exfoliation routine 2-3 times a week to keep those pesky ingrowns away.
On Brows & Artistry...
What's the real difference between Brow Dye and a basic tint?
Oh, honey, they're not even in the same league. A tint is a cute fling; our hybrid dye is a long-term love affair. It stains the skin for up to 10 days (hello, instant makeup) and clings to the hairs for up to six weeks. It's the definition of "I woke up like this."
Will a Brow Lamination wreck my natural brows?
Absolutely not. That's a myth from a world of bad technicians. In my hands, a lamination is a game-changer. It's a gentle perm that tames unruly hairs and lifts them into a fuller, flawlessly sculpted shape. We finish every service with a deep conditioning treatment, leaving your brows healthier than when you walked in.
What do I need to do before my brow appointment?
Just arrive with your brows clean and makeup-free. If you're getting a lamination or dye, lay off the retinol and harsh exfoliants (like acids) around the area for at least three days prior. Protect the canvas!
